Birding Paddle with Birdhers

This event is FULL! Stay tuned for another birding paddle date soon.

What: Join Birdhers and Mosquito Fleet for a bird watching paddle! Participants can bring their own boat, or reserve one of ours. This event is an affinity space for women, non-binary and trans people.

When: Sunday, October 22nd from 1-4pm

Where: We will meet at Kelley Point Park (map). Ample parking is available. Taking public transportation? Bus #11 makes the closest stop to the area by dropping riders off at N Marine & Leadbetter, a 1 mile walk to the Kelley Point Park parking lot. We will be paddling from Kelley Point Park to Wapato (Sauvie) Island.

What to bring: Pack along water and come prepared for the weather! In addition to providing kayaks and gear for those who register, Mosquito Fleet will have snacks and cold drinks to share.

Accessibility: This paddle is for folks 14 and older (minors must be accompanied by an adult) who have previous kayaking experience. There are public bathrooms available at Kelley Point Park, but not on Wapato Island. This event requires participants to navigate uneven/gravel terrain from the parking area to the launch. The paddle from Kelley Point Park to Wapato Island, while a relatively short distance, requires some kayaking experience. Mosquito Fleet will have two safety paddlers participating. Previous paddling experience recommended!

RSVP: RSVPs are full!
